Since I play WHFB as well as WHQ I have command-groups for
nearly
every monster-type. Using them in Quest is fun because usually they look more
fancy then the
average rank-and-file trooper. Recently I've been thinking of a way to
add some "profile" to them, some functionality.
As long as the banner is up, any monster of his group that goes down can "look up to his banner, take courage from it and pull himself together one more time" effectively putting him back up on one wound. In play I suggest rolling a D6 for every monster on zero wounds, bringing it back to 1 Wound on a score of 6. I playtested this and it works quite well.
The sound of the horn or drum of the musician brings extra spirit to the monsters. While the musician is alive and kicking on a to-hit roll of 6 the monster gains an extra damage dice (or, when the monster already has an extra dice on a n+, this changes in (n-1)+ )
For both types I suggest to double the value of an ordinary monster.
